Cutlivar development and Propagating
Berryworld is running a cultivar development and propagation portfolio to address the needs of New Zealand growers. Maintaining a gateway for new varieties to be developed commercially and ensuring the standard of varieties being distributed are essential for the production and needs of growers.
On behalf of NZ Berryfruit Propagators Ltd, Berryworld propagates and distributes the main commercial strawberry varieties to runner growers throughout New Zealand. The cultivars are propagated and tested in a high health unit before being distributed to growers. Berryworld also carries out Plant Variety Rights descriptions for all berry crops and assists with commercial development programmes for Strawberries, Blackcurrants, Raspberries, Boysenberries and Blueberries.
